July 9, 1925
The Longville girls’ baseball team is invited to play ball in Pine River at the County Fair.
Three parties from Minneapolis came to Inguadona Lodge to fish Friday and remained until Sunday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Shoemaker arrived in Federal Dam Thursday and will make this their home for the summer.
75 Years Ago
June 23, 1950
The Island road was filled in at the end of Boy Lake where it was flooded for so long. The corduroy section on the Boy River road has also been filled in.
The Young People’s Social was held at the Dauber home in Blind Lake Thursday evening. They enjoyed a wiener roast by the lake.
The Snodgrass boys put up a new cement silo to take care of their silage. They also purchased a new side delivery rake.

July 3, 1975
Carl Showalter , age 14, came with his family to their homestead on Little Rice lake, three miles east of Longville in 1906. He was a WWI veteran.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Eisenbrenner of Twin Springs Resort were Brainerd business callers on Monday.
Mother’s Restaurant in Boy River offers an “every Sunday special” for $2.95.

The Appaloosa horse Might Najetta Brite from Longville is a 3-year-old owned by Patricia Jo and Patrick Harder, who has earned a Certificate of Achievement through the ACAAP program of the Appaloosa Horse Club.
On Sunday July 9, the Remer Congregational USS will have its annual worship service at Mable Lake, followed by a potluck picnic.
Joseph Sweeney of Longville, who will be attending Hamline University for biology/chemistry received scholarships from the Marshall H. and Nellie Alworth Memorial Fund.
