   Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk reports that on Monday June 16th 2025, pursuant to an ongoing investigation into the trafficking, sales and use of methamphetamine in the Cass County and surrounding areas, including the Leech Lake Indian Reservation, a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located and seized by law enforcement. A subsequent search warrant was served at a residence in Kego Township, rural Longville, MN area where numerous firearms were located and seized. Assisting in this operation was the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the United State Postal Inspection Service, the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, the FBI Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, and the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. This is an ongoing investigation with our federal law enforcement partners with no additional details available for release at this time.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office encourages you to report suspected drug or other crime-related information to the Sheriff’s Office.
