Over the River and Through the Woods.......
You said it! To Grandmother’s house they came! We launched our first turtle race of the season and all went off without a hitch. You never know... we are all rather old and the memory is pretty full of stuff. Back to the races... we all agreed that we had never seen so many really little ones, I mean really little... like preschool age, all of them so adorable and wild! There was a crush of them wiggling and giggling with the hula hoops, and you should have seen when Sara announced a “free style” dance. And, when we were done giving out coupons, they stormed us for more! And it wasn’t just the little ones who were acting up. Lots of Moms, Dads, Gramas and Grampas danced as well. Sometimes the big people are a little reticent about dancing... not this group. Everyone was wild..just the way we like it.
Turtle race champion
This week’s Grand Winner was five year old Willow from David City, NE.
Resort race winner...
Three year old Tatum Ahlf from St. Ansger, IA walked away with the big W this week representing All Seasons Resort. Photos submitted.
Slow Poke champion
This week’s Grand Slowpoke Winner was five year old Ryker from Carlton, GA.
On a side note, Sara was our announcer with Dawn as her wing man. Sara noted the freshening up that is going on in Longville. We have new stores and new storefronts. Come on in and take a peek... just maybe not on a Wednesday. Lots of treasures to be had. 14 races later it was time to say goodbye to another very special day in downtown Longville, with memories that will be passed on for generations. 1 down and 9 to go.
