Healing, Worship, and “Fire Power”: Catholic Retreat Comes to Walker
Local residents are invited to a two-day Catholic retreat this summer, featuring international speaker and evangelist Maria Vadia. The event, hosted by the Magnificat Chapter of Our Lady of the Lakes, will be held June 27 and 28 at St. Agnes Church in Walker.
The retreat kicks off Friday evening with registration at 5:30 p.m. and a meal at 6 p.m. Saturday’s schedule begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by breakfast at 9 a.m. and lunch at noon. Participants can attend both days for $50 or choose to attend a single day for $30.
Maria Vadia, originally from Havana, Cuba, fled to Miami with her family at the age of 10 to escape the Communist regime. After experiencing a deep personal conversion, she became a passionate advocate for sharing the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit. She now travels internationally, speaking and ministering actively in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Archdiocese of Miami, and serving as founder of several ministries, including the Jesus is Lord Chapter of Magnificat and The Glory of God Foundation in Miami. She has close connections with Glory House of Miami, a safe haven for human trafficking victims.
Valia is known for her dynamic presentations centered on healing, miracles and the power of the Holy Spirit. The retreat’s name, “Fire Power,” reflects her mission to ignite spiritual renewal through worship and prayer.
Reservations are required by June 25. To register, contact Lorri Henning at (218) 507-0953 or Jeanette Goehring at (218) 252-2777.
Men and women are both welcome to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring a Bible–and a friend.
