The Northland board has meet for several special meetings over the past couple of weeks to select interview candidates for the position of Superintendent, conduct interviews and approve the hire of the selected candidate.
On Tuesday, May 27 the board meet to narrow down their search from eleven candidates to three interviewee’s. Wednesday evening the board conducted the interviews and then collaborated over the next few days. Another special meeting was then held Monday, June 2 which a contract was presented to the board offering the superintendent position to Mark Morrison. Currently Morrison is superintendent at the Chisholm School District and will begin with Northland July 1, 2025.
Board Chair Marc Ruyak briefly outlined the contract stating it is a two year contract with the similar benefits as his current contract with Chisholm. Starting salary for Morrison will be $129,000 per year with Morrison declining the district’s health insurance. After all present board members looked through the contract and had no questions, a motion was made by Ruyak with board member Jason Perkins seconding the motion, and the motion passing unanimously.
