Runners Dash Through the Woods at Bigfoot 5K
As part of Remer’s annual Bigfoot Days celebration, the Bigfoot 5K brought out runners of all ages on July 12 to race through town and surrounding trails in search of fun—and maybe a Sasquatch sighting or two.
In the adult male division, Jeremy Swan Jr. took first place with a time of 22:21, followed by Eric Bergman in second at 24:00, and Nathan Weber in third at 24:57.
For adult females, Blake Wilkie crossed the finish line first with a time of 26:20. Kate Kocyba followed in second at 27:55, and Jessica Thuringer came in third at 29:02.
In the youth category, Jeffrey Tisak claimed first place for males with a time of 26:57, while Alice Thuringer led the females with a time of 29:02.
The race added another energetic highlight to the weekend’s lineup of quirky, family-friendly fun in Remer, the proud “Home of Bigfoot.”
