Music in the Park - Pat and Donna Surface perform July 24
Pat and Donna Surface will perform as part of the Music in the Park summer concert series on Sunday, July 24, in Longville. The two-hour concert starts at 5 p.m. at the gazebo in the park area of Salem Lutheran Church, 1340 County Road 5.
Journey back in time with Pat and Donna for a unique musical performance that celebrates the jukebox hits through the decades - a tribute to the timeless artists and songs that topped the charts. There is something for everyone! From the boppin’ sounds of the 50s and the generation-defining anthems of the 60s - through ever-changing styles of the 70s. Jukebox Time Machine is an entertaining blast to the past.
The husband and wife duo are a dynamic, funny duo. Along with the difference in their heights, Pat, who is 6’8”, has a rich, mellow voice and easy-going, folksy Minnesota demeanor. Donna, at five feet tall, has the New York City quick-wit and energy, a compelling contrast. They perform at theaters, festivals, private communities, and churches around the country. Together, Pat and Donna have written hit tribute shows, including: Remember When, based on the songs and culture of the 60s and 70s, Feelin’ Alright! - A Tribute To Woodstock, and their new show, Jukebox Time Machine - A Tribute To Jukebox Hits Through The Decades - all woven with: riveting back-stories, relatable and hysterical husband-wife banter, and interactive segments like ‘Name That Tune’ with prizes. As an actress, comedian, singer, dancer, and playwright from the Big Apple, Donna uses her special talent as story-teller and MC to set the stage for the iconic songs in their shows.
Admission is free, but free-will donations are appreciated. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. Popcorn and lemonade is available. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the church. Music in the Park is a community outreach activity of Salem Lutheran Church and supported by the Longville Area Community Choir. It is funded in part with grants from the Longville Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Longville Foundation and Lake Country Power.
