Men’s Fellowship Group fundraiser meal at UCC July 16
Join us at Union Congregational Church of Hackensack on Wednesday, July 16 from 5 to 6 p.m. for the July Summer Fundraiser Meal, dedicated to supporting families in need during the holiday seasons. Hosted by our Men’s Fellowship group, your “Free-Will Donations” directly contribute to purchasing chicken or ham, essential for our Holiday Boxes distributed by the Hackensack Food Shelf. These food boxes provide Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter meals to local families facing financial challenges.
Dinner will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. and features a festive taco bar with refried beans, corn salsa and delicious desserts made by our talented baker, Tammy Lindberg. All proceeds aim to reach our goal of $1000. This amount covers the cost of meat for 30-40 holiday boxes across Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
UCC Men’s Fellowship has long partnered with the Hackensack Lions Club, Faith in Action, and the Hackensack Food Shelf in this meaningful tradition. When asked what the Men’s Fellowship group is about, member Stan Kumpula stated, “The Men’s Fellowship has been going on for years and years as part of the UCC. There are three parts we focus on. Men’s fellowship, helping to maintain and do projects for the church itself, but most importantly, participating in projects that involve community service.” It is obvious that the Holiday Boxes project is a much loved and greatly valued endeavor that the Men’s Fellowship group finds so important to Hackensack.
Mark your calendar and be part of this community effort to bring comfort and nourishment to families during the holidays!
