Dec. 23, 1925
James Connolly and Bessie Bailey of Boy River were married on December 30th at Walker.
William J. Spain and Evelyn M. Ralya of Hackensack secured a marriage license on December 23rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. N. Bourdon left Federal Dam Thursday for Minneapolis where they will spend Christmas with their daughter.

Dec. 19, 1950
An Onigum PTA was organized Thursday evening. Officers elected were Percy Lyons, Joe Bellanger, Reverend Rice and Mrs. Percy Lyons.
Hugh Slocum, owner of the local garage in Federal Dam, made a business trip to St. Cloud Friday.
Ted Haugen baled hay for Art Preble on the Island last week.

Ethel Sonnenberg married Eric Schroeder and lived most of her life in Hackensack where they operated Sunset Bay Resort on Pleasant Lake until their retirement.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Coalwell, caretakers at Camp Patmos on Stony Lake who announce the arrival of daughter Sara Ann.
Bill Manders speared a couple of lunkers on Little Boy the other day. Not many have been getting fish, either angling or spearing.

Marguerite Johnson, 90, died Dec. 13th. She married Oscar Johnson, and they made their home in Boy River. She served as the Boy River postmaster for 18 years.
Jim Sizenbach has been chosen EMT of the Year by the Remer Area Ambulance Service. He serves as Deputy Chief of the ambulance service.
Last Tuesday District #118 voters rejected a $11.9 million construction and remodeling proposal by 25 votes. In 1999 they said “no” by 434 votes.
