   Stop by to welcome the new staff at the Faith in Action for Cass County office in Hackensack, arriving just in time for the Holidays! Say Hi, admire the Angel Tree, pick up information about Faith in Action and other area resources, or use the Legal Aid Kiosk in our Resource Center.

Meet Karen Will of Hackensack who joined the staff of Faith in Action as the Bookkeeper and Data Management Coordinator in December. Karen worked for some years as Office Manager for Paws & Claws in Hackensack and brings data management and financial experience to Faith in Action. Karen has settled into her new role and is enjoying meeting the wonderful people connected with Faith in Action. She appreciates the beauty of northern Minnesota and loves spending time outdoors – whether at local summer lakeside concerts, kayaking on the lake, or enjoying time with her fur babies.

   Meet Teresa Gunter, the new Faith in Action Volunteer Coordinator. Teresa is a Leech Lake Band Member living in Onigum, who previously worked for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe for 22 years in various roles. She has been active on the Leech Lake Onigum Local Indian Council for the past 14 years and is currently the Chair. Teresa is looking forward to working with the 138 (and growing!) Faith in Action Volunteers and encouraging others to support the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” mission.

   Karen and Teresa join new Executive Director Kathy Langer and Receptionist/Scheduler Cheri Henne to round out the Faith in Action for Cass County team that connects community volunteers with people in need throughout Cass County. Neighborly volunteers help with transportation, home meal delivery, phone visits, caregiver support, Memory Café, basic home repair, and chores including ramp building, yardwork and taking out recycling, through Faith in Action for Cass County’s coordinated volunteer services. New Volunteers are welcome to join at any time.
