Dec. 16, 1925
William Parise of Remer applied for final citizenship papers and was successful.
Ed Lura was found dead in his chair last Saturday. He had been a caretaker for the past 10 years for Geo. Scott at his hunting lodge on Mud Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Kline of Wabedo are the proud parents of a 9 ½ pound baby girl born Dec. 16th.

Dec. 12, 1950
Charles Bungo became the new secretary of the Walker Civic and Commerce Association this week, taking the position held by Buck Simpson. He has years of experience as Field Supervisor for the Indian Department.
Lester Swanson and Bob Archer arrived home to Federal Dam Thursday from a hunting trip to Wisconsin. They each brought back a deer.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Turney at the Cass Lake Indian hospital on November 27th.

Dec. 18, 1975
A night convoy of six snowmobiles struck a horse and seriously injured David Keith Felton who is listed in serious condition at the Grand Rapids hospital.
Longville has a new skating rink that opened December 1st. A fund-raising dinner was held Sunday to further project efforts.
The public is invited to attend the Christmas Cantata at the Longville Community church on December 21st. This is the third annual venture with voices from all churches.

Lena says it is not the minutes at the table that make you fat, it’s the seconds.
The Nelson family of Remer will again serve their traditional Christmas Day dinner at the Remer City Hall for persons alone at Christmas.
Margaret Tusler died Dec. 10th. She was born in S.Dak. to George and Mary (Bannister) Mogart and attended school in Hackensack. She married Homer Tusler in 1946 and has lived in Hackensack since.
