Get The Lead Out contest at Lakers Lions Annual Corn Feed nets 54 pounds, 6 ounces of lead – a new state record!
The Crooked Lake Township Lakes and Shores Committee together with Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Army Corps of Engineers teamed up again this year to collect lead fishing tackle.
This year’s grand prize for the most lead turned in was a Minn Kota Endura Trolling Motor and second prize was 18 Holes of Golf for Four at Emily Greens Golf Course. Additionally, everyone who turned in a minimum of 1.0 ounces of lead qualified for general raffled prizes of $50.00 gift certificates donated by the Crooked Lake Cafe, Pickled Loon Saloon, Red Pine Cookhouse and the Village Inn.

T-shirt transfers were available for kids as well as take home bags filled with an assortment of tattoos, stickers, frisbees and gifts from the Army Corps of Engineers.
Volunteers from two Crooked Lake Township lake associations, RALALA and LWA, along with support from Cass County AIS Technician, Steve Henry, provided information about the area lake associations, the GTLO campaign and efforts to deter aquatic invasive species from our area lakes.
Thank you to everyone who visited the CLT L&S booths, to all the volunteers and sponsors and congratulations to the GTLO Winners!
