   The Bob Savre Senior Men’s League had 45 golfers forming 12 teams show up to play the game of the day “3 Low Net Scores on Each Hole” at Longbow Golf Club.

   League results for August 19 are:

   The team winning first place with a 196 included: Mike Haining, 70; Doug Hoopman, 72; Tony Rannow, 74; Al Hartmann, 75.

   The team walking home with second place with a 199 included: Jim Franz, 68; Dallas Anderson, 71; Bob Savre, 71; Rocky Berndt, 85.

   The team coming in third place, with a 201 included: Tom Novak, 68; Greg Danaher, 69; Billy Bunker, 69; Marc Schonwise, 78.

   The team coming in fourth place, with a 206 included: Craig Anderson, 71; Mike Press, 74; Paul Dennie, 75; Guy Reierson, 80.

   The team taking home fifth place, with a 207 included: Greig Payne, 71; Harland Johnson, 72; Dave Klosner, 76; Roger Frank, 76.

   Mike Olson, Steven Day and Joe Halley shared the low gross of the day with their 78. Low net went home with Tom Novak and Jim Franz, with their 82-14=68 and 92-24=68, respectively.

   Joe Halley was closest to the pin on hole 12 at 0’11”. Closest to the pin on hole 17 was Mark Nichols at 5’7”. Cy Sorrells had the longest putt on hole 7, while Tom Novak had the longest putt on hole 14. 

   Chip-ins were made by Paul Dennie for birdie, Bob Savre for bogey and Greg Danaher for bogey.

   Mike Olson won the league championship with a 36 hole total of 154. It was the fifth championship for Olson, winning his first in 2019. Steven Day came in second three strokes back at 157. Ray Zittlow finished in third place with a total of 158.

   Mike Olson also won the league match play tournament. Olson previously won the tournament in 2016. This is the second time that the same player won both tournmanents the same year. Olson defeated Doug Hoopman in the final match 4 and 3. Terry Paul won the third place match by defeating Bruce Black 1 up. The annual match play tournament is played with handicaps.
