The Longville Young-at-Heart (YAH) Senior Club held their annual quilt raffle drawing at the start of the last turtle races of the season on August 13. The winning ticket was drawn by Maci Miller, daughter of Jon and Tara Miller of St. Charles, MN. Maci is 9 years old and will be in the 4th grade this year. Maci and Dennis Zuelke, aka “the Chicken Man”, did the honors and the lucky winner was Steph Putz, pictured above, whose family has a place on Big Portage in Backus with their other home in Mora. The YAH club is open for Hand and Foot on Tuesdays at 11:00, Cribbage at 1 p.m., and second and fourth Thursdays for 500. Community members are invited to join in on the fun. It isn’t required that you be a YAH Club member, but it is encouraged. The yearly dues are only $12. Photo submitted.
