Remer’s 77th Annual Harvest Festival
Gather your friends, family and lawn chairs, it’s time for Remer’s 77th Annual Harvest Festival, taking place Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9. This year’s theme, The Great Outdoors, promises two days of games, food, music and good old-fashioned small-town fun.
The festivities kick off Friday with the all-day flea market near Bigfoot Gas & Gifts. From 5 to 7 p.m., head to the Depot Pavilion for the Goodwill Community Dinner BBQ, a perfect place to catch up with neighbors over a hot meal. At 5:30 p.m., stick around to honor local businesses during the Chamber Business Awards, also at the pavilion.
Saturday brings a packed schedule of events from sun-up to sundown. The flea market continues alongside a pancake breakfast at the Depot Pavilion from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the Farmer’s Market opens at 8:30 by the bank, and the “Singles” Trap Shoot gets underway at 9 a.m. at the Trap Range.
From 10 a.m. to noon, kids can enjoy games at the Congregational Church. At 10, registration for the bags tournament begins at the Remer Muni, and bags start flying at 11. A break is scheduled for the parade. The parade line-up starts at 11:30 a.m. in the school parking lot. The Kiddie Parade and Main Parade hit Main Street at 1 p.m.—a can’t-miss Harvest Fest tradition.
Afternoon activities include the fan-favorite Business Olympics at 2 p.m. in the Motel Yard and Bingo at the Depot Pavilion at 3 p.m. Enjoy live music from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Muni with “Lady and the Tramp,” and close out the festival with evening tunes by “The Kellog Duo” from 6 to 9 p.m.
Be sure to thank the local businesses helping to keep the spirit of Harvest Fest alive this year, including: First National Bank, Ice Cube, Muni on Main, Remer Liquor, Rusty Bucket, Woodland Insurance, Woodsman Cafe, Chopper’s Meats, Eats and Treats, The Store, and Bigfoot Powerwashing.
Whether you’re shopping the flea market, tossing bags, dancing to live music or waving at the parade, the 77th Annual Harvest Festival is sure to deliver big fun in small-town style. Don’t miss it!
