100 Years Ago
August 13, 1925
A Cass County maiden named Ruth, once met a young man from Duluth. They went to the fair and while they were there, they slept in the Cass County booth.
Mr. Puttee and Mr. Hutchinson of Iowa are spending the week at Pocahontas Lodge at Wabedo.
Word was received in Federal Dam that Victor Smith an old resident here, died at Duluth Monday.
75 Years Ago
July 28, 1950
Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeVorak of Federal Dam are enjoying a vacation while Mr. Spillman is taking his place in the roundhouse there.
Raymond Hart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hart of Wahnena, broke his arm when he fell off a hayrack.
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Tusler are the parents of a daughter named Patricia, born July 29th at Brainerd.

August 7, 1975
Daniel Bailey, a 1975 Honor graduate of Remer High School, is recipient of an Itasca Community College Foundation scholarship for the 1975-76 academic year.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Campbell, who have a mobile home on Sugar Point, are proud grandparents of a baby boy born to their daughter on July 23rd.
On August 14th a public hearing will be held on Wabedo lake and Inguadona lake for the purpose of designating these lakes for muskellunge management.

Members of the Longville Garden Club, the Petal Pushers, decorated the entrance to the Riverside cemetery by planting perennials and mulching with bark at the entrance.
Bertha Richmond, 88, died July 31st. She was born in Hill City to William and Florence Newman. She was a rural mail carrier for 33 years in Federal Dam.
Treasure House Antiques of Longville now does custom framing which is located in the basement of the antique shop by owner Norris Krause.
