   According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on July 25, 2025 at 11:36 a.m., a 2011 Lexus RX SUV driven by Jennifer Ann Bunce, age 78 of Backus, MN was driving northbound on Highway 6 near Big Rice Lake Road when it veered off the road and hit a few trees. The driver experienced a medical issue. Brunce suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to CentraCare - St. Cloud for further treatment. She was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not believed to be a factor. 

   Assisting with the incident was Cass County, Remer Ambulance and North Memorial.
