   Joan Sifford, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Joan was born September 5,1929 in Worthington, Minnesota to Enoch and Hilda (Johnson) Gustafson. She grew up in Worthington, Minnesota. 

   Following graduation she attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, Minnesota and graduated with an education degree in 1951. While a student she met Paul Sifford and they were married soon after graduation. Joan taught physical education until the

birth of her children and then became a full time homemaker. Paul and Joan lived in Bloomington MN where together they raised their four daughters. 

   They loved spending their summers together in the Longville area. Following retirement they made Longville their home and spent winters in Florida. Some of their favorite times were at their cabin with their children and grandchildren. Joan loved walking, gardening, watching the birds and boating. She also loved playing Skipbo, badminton and ping pong. She will always be remembered for her boundless energy, her love of walking and her love of chocolate treats. 

   She is survived by her children; Linda (Tom), Lorna (Jim), LuAnn (Rick), Jola (Glen), and eight grandchildren; Casey, Robin (Chris) Dana, Michaela, Christopher, Alanna, Ryan, and Marisa and her great grandchild, Jay. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents and sister Lois. A family services will be held at a later date.
