100 Years Ago
Aug. 14, 1924
George Paper of Bena, died suddenly during the early part of the week at his home.
Mr. Crandall and Louis Huffman of Kego left for Dakota Monday morning.
Mrs. Starling passed away at her home in Boy Lake Monday afternoon.
75 Years Ago
Aug. 12, 1949
Mr. and Mrs. Sid Scoville have rented their home to Mr. and Mrs. Murphy. Mr. Murphy is the new Asst. Ranger, having replaced Lawrence Pound.
Miss Helen Felton will leave soon for the state of Washington.
Several of the boys around here have a diving tower on the southwest side of Ponto Lake.

Aug. 15, 1974
Ray Fanth, born in Remer in 1916, married Alvina Lillyquist. He is currently Chief of Police in Longville and is seeking the office of Cass County Sheriff.
Mrs. Enid Mix died August 10th. She and husband Raymond lived in Boy River where she taught students in the Huset School. Raymond was a former postmaster in Boy River.
Work was begun this week on the new school in Remer. It was necessary to remove some of the pine trees.

The ever popular “Coconut Boys” Dave Anderson and Chuck Wahlstrom, were back to entertain Friday evening in the Remer Music/Variety Show.
