Violet Floyd, age 95, of Hackensack, passed away Tuesday, May 22, at the Good Samaritan Society, Pine River, with her daughters at her side. She was born to Jerry and Jennie Dvorak on August 5, 1922, in Walker, Iowa. Violet worked as a teacher's aide for 17 years at the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley school. She was a 4H leader and a member of the Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary for 50 years. She was active in the Women's Fellowship group at Union Congregational Church where she also taught Sunday School.

Violet is survived by her daughters: Donna Williams (Michael), Diana Slinkard (Harlan), Roberta Floyd (Danny Keep); grandchildren: Steven, Robert, Christopher, Cathy Jo, Jill, Harlan II; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Floyd; son, Allen "Butch"; sister, Eulabel Potts; and brother, Marvin Dvorak.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at Union Congregational Church, Hackensack. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hackensack. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
