The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St Paul District, invites everyone 14 years of age and younger to participate in the 23rd Annual Kids' Fishing Derby, Saturday, July 20. The derby will take place at 1217 Federal Dam Drive NE, Federal Dam, MN, at the Leech Lake Dam and Recreation Area.

Registration and activities will begin at 11:00 a.m., the fishing derby from noon to 1:00 p.m. and the awards presentation to follow. Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for longest fish caught in each age group. Participants will be registered under one of the three age groups: 1-4 years, 5-9 years and 10-14 years of age. Every participant gets a prize.

Free hot dogs, chips and pop for contestants. Local merchants will provide the bait. All you need is your lucky fishing pole. For more information please call the park office at 218-654-3145.[[In-content Ad]]
