Mrs. Carter, who owns property across from Whipholt, has put in a stock of goods. She also has several cottages on the property to cater to both residents and tourists.
E.A. Lyman of Remer is confined to the hospital in Walker with a severe case of blood poisoning. One of his hands is infected.
P.G. Loff and W.W. Stamn, who are working on the road near Cyphers, came home to Silver Lake to spend the weekend.

On the last fishing trip made by some of the men of Boy River, Ray Mix got most of the fish, and now the neighbors are complaining on how hard he is to get along with.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Carlson are the proud parents of a fine baby boy who arrived at the Grand Rapids hospital.
A Federal Dam feller named Gray, had a hen that he couldn’t make lay. But since spending some dough, for a bird that would crow; that hen’s laid an egg every day.

Southside Self-Service and Quick Stop Grocery store in Hackensack will hold a grand opening this weekend, in conjunction with the Sun ‘N Fun store. Southside is owned by Leroy Osterloh, and Ron and Julie Pawlak own the Sun ‘N Fun store.
Scott Aiken, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Showalter of Inguadona township, graduated from Carbondale University in Illinois on May 14th.
Grace Lego, Lovey Kane, Mayme Wake and Mabel McKeig attended a meeting at Boy River with members of the Bi-County CAP program on Tuesday morning.

Eloise Surber, age 79, died May 19 in Indianola, Iowa. She was born in Indianola and had lived in Longville for 15 years before returning to Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan.
Delbert Waterhouse was born January 29, 1900 near Remer to parents Edwin and Mabel (Peterson) Waterhouse. He served in the US Airforce during the Korean War. He lived in New Hope before returning to Remer in 1991. He died May 20th.
Longville Mayor Cheryl Kroeker has set aside three hours each Tuesday to meet with her constituents at City Hall.
