June 30, 1926
Mrs. O.J. Whitted returned last Thursday from the R.P. Brown resort at Boy River where she has been staying during Mr. Brown’s absence.
Ervin McPherson of Walker has accepted the principalship of the Federal Dam schools for the coming year.
Miss Mayme Hrdlichka, age 19, and the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amil Hrdlichka, passed away after an illness of six months duration.

June 28, 1951
Ernest Nyvall announces the opening of his Webb Gas Station and invites patronage to a new product in this vicinity.
Strawberries are ripening and cows are being milked three times a day now for cream to go with ‘em.
On June 30th, Bonnie Bushaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bushaw, became the bride of Leo Renn, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo E. Renn.

June 24, 1976
The Howard Sawyer property had storm damage on Wednesday evening when lightning struck his garage and well house. Both were burned.
Kenneth Gale and Christina Flocken were married June 23 at the Sacred Heart Catholic church at Federal Dam. A reception was held at Kenneth’s home at Sugar Point.
The Remer Centennial Committee has planned an “Old Fashioned Sunday School picnic” to be held July 4th on the Northland High school football fields.

Nearly 20 years ago, the Longville Lions Club began working to build a medical clinic in Longville. With land donated by Jerry and Joan Lynch and building materials and labor, the clinic was built and in 1996, the mortgage was paid.
The Woman Lake Book and Thimble Club organized in 1936 donated $100 to Nodie Shepard to help the Margaret Welch Memorial Library in Longville which is the smallest town in Minnesota to have a public library.
