Jeanne was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 23, 1933 to James and Alvina Sharp. She passed away at United Hospital in St. Paul on May 31, 2026 after several months of declining health.
Jeanne’s early years were spent in South St. Paul, before her family moved to Remer in 1945. She married Ralph Brown and they had two sons, Keith and Roger. Jeanne worked as a nurse in Grand Rapids and in St. Paul. After moving to Chicago, she was employed at Eastern Airlines for many years. In retirement, she became fondly known as “Grandma Jeanne,” caring for children in Woodbury and Shoreview.
Jeanne was a traveler and took many road trips out West to visit her family. She loved the mountains and deserts and stories of the West always captured her imagination. Her sense of humor, her many jokes and her tendency to embellish her stories, kept everyone entertained and laughing. She enjoyed her crafts, knitting and playing chicken foot, but her greatest joy came from cooking, baking and bringing people together around food. For many years she delivered Meals on Wheels. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in South St. Paul.
She leaves behind a legacy of adventure, kindness and love that will continue through her family and all who knew her. Jeanne is survived by her son Keith Brown (Karon), grandson Kevin Brown, daughter-in-law Cheryl Brown and granddaughters Kristin Ianus (Vlad) and Lauren Brown (Dave), two great-grandchildren, Otto and Nico, as well as her nephew Mike Sharp (Tracy), niece Jeri Jo Poshkoff (Gordon) and by her many friends and relatives. She was proceeded in death by her son Roger Brown, her parents, her brother Jerry Sharp, her brother Jim Sharp and sister-in-law Diane, Ralph Brown, Wayne Knoll, Richard Cosgrove and William Reynolds.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Lyngblomsten Care Center, Allina Health and United Hospital for the support and comfort they provided to Jeanne as her health declined. A family graveside service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
