And the beat goes on at Walker Bay Theater
And the beat goes on at Walker Bay Theater, where some of the best productions are promised to make summer 2026 one to be long remembered.
Following a summer that included the hilarious “Four Old Broads,” the world-touring “Bible Bingo,” and a musical interlude by Debbie Center, confirmations for three additional productions have been released.
August will feature the always-popular “On Golden Pond,” following up on its abbreviated 2025 run, when the final two performances were cancelled. This year’s production has been expanded to four shows, with performances scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20, through Sunday, Aug. 23. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m., the highly popular “King and Cash” show will hit the stage at Walker Bay Theater. The production features impersonator Sean Wallin as both The Man in Black, Johnny Cash, and The King, Elvis Presley.
The “King and Cash” show has been playing to “Sold Out” and “Full House” performances all across the area this summer. According to Walker Bay Theater’s Dave Holk, this is “by far the best of the best,” and the show will feature surprise performers in addition to those already mentioned. The surprises will remain just that — surprises — until they are revealed on show dates.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see what everyone is talking about. Reservations are encouraged now, as another sellout is expected. Tickets are $20, with general admission seating. For reservations, call Dave Holk at (218) 820-1603. No alcohol is offered or allowed, making this a safe family outing.
Final negotiations are nearing completion for a one-show-only performance by Lehto and Wright on Sunday, Oct. 18. The duo has been described as Celtic, Americana and “Rock,” depending, perhaps, on which fans are answering the question.
Many area residents will recognize Lehto and Wright from several past Ethnic Fest celebrations in Walker. Ticket reservations are available by calling Dave Holk at (218) 820-1603. Tickets are $15 for all age groups. Tickets will also be available at American National Bank of Walker, which will serve as an alternate ticket source for all Walker Bay Theater productions.
Plans are also in the works for a seasonal production, with the date and choice of show expected to be announced in early to mid-September.
Also being put on the Walker Bay Theater calendar is the annual Kids Christmas Party and Kickoff, scheduled for Nov. 28. Plans are hoped to include Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with live reindeer. Further announcements will be made as plans are finalized.
Preliminary discussions have also taken place regarding bringing back one of the theater’s previous “Radio Show” productions for December and the Christmas season. Again, announcements will be made as those plans become reality.
Looking ahead to 2027, Walker Bay Theater would like to plan some kind of musical production. Anyone interested in performing is encouraged to contact Dave Holk at (218) 820-1603.
But first things first — let’s get those tickets bought for the upcoming shows before it is too late!
