   The Backus Lions have been collecting plastic for the TREX program for several years. They recently donated their seventh bench to the Backus Lumber and Garden store.

   In August of 2022, Dan and Larry Bryngelson took over the Backus Lumber store.  They also own Hackensack Lumber and Hardware. The Backus store manager is Tami Dill who is also the business manager for both the Hackensack and Backus stores.

   Recently store employee Mike Donahue brought their forklift to our peach delivery site and assisted the Backus Lions in unloading their many pallets of peaches. Backus Lumber had provided this help in the past, and now Backus Lumber and Garden continues working with our local groups. This helps make for a good working relationship with the community.

   The store has changed over the last year, and people are encouraged to stop in and check out their new look. Their hours are 8-5 Monday through Friday and 9-4 on Saturday.  

   This store could be a new “hidden treasure” for the Backus area.  Stop in and check out their new patio and garden decorations.  They have a nice supply of friendly gnomes to greet you.
