Her early childhood was in Ralston, Iowa and her family moved to Osgood, Iowa in 1938. Wanda attended the Osgood and Graettinger schools. She was a member of the Graettinger Rebekah Lodge, Care Bear Circle, United Methodist Women, Happy Hour Card Club, and she had fun playing in the Kitchen Band.
On November 2, 1946, Wanda was united in marriage to Arthur Kerr in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Wanda and Art enjoyed their 65 years of marriage together in Osgood, Graettinger, and Wallingford. Throughout their lives together, they enjoyed summers at their home on Leech Lake, Minnesota where they loved being on the patio together watching the hummingbirds around her beautifully tended flowers, all the activities of the wildlife, and visiting the neighbors (all of whom are beloved family members). Wanda had a passion for reading and playing cards. She enjoyed fishing, needlework, macramé, and loved adding to her many collections. She adored her four Grandchildren, seven Great-grandchildren, and one Great-great-granddaughter. Wanda was blessed with three loving daughters, and many nieces and nephews who also thought of her as "Mom".
