He was raised in Hackensack and after graduating he began working in Minneapolis at the Fischbein Co. He remained a valued employee for the next 42 years. He traveled the globe presenting seminars for Fischbein. Carl and Lee Ann returned to their home on Big Deep Lake near Hackensack after he retired.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Stephanie Lea Einhorn; and niece, Jamie Lofgren.
Carl is survived by Lee Ann, his loving wife of 31 years; two children, Craig Johnson, of Conroe, Texas, Jason Johnson (Jeff Feidt), of Minneapolis; step-children, Richard (Kate) Lea, of Fargo, N.D., Bobby (Anne) Lea, of St. Paul; grandchildren, Chase and Chad Johnson, Houston, Texas; Ben (Ayelet) Einhorn, and Elise Einhorn, all of Denver, Colo.; siblings, Stanley (Helen) Johnson, of Hackensack; Jane Lofgren, White Bear Lake, Minn., James (June) Johnson, Grand Rapids, Minn., Richard (Marlys) Johnson, of Hackensack; and Lynn (Michelle) Johnson, also of Hackensack. Carl was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, as well as many, many wonderful friends.
He enjoyed neighbor's visits, boating and fishing, playing cards and tinkering on a constant variety of mechanical objects. He was known for his gifted teaching and ability to fix just about anything. Car would help anyone in need. he enjoyed volunteering at the Hackensack Co-op for many years.
He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. He was a loving husband, father and beloved neighbor and friend to many on Big Deep Lake.
Carl will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 23, with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hackensack, with the Rev. Judy Gustafson presiding.[[In-content Ad]]
