105 Kids caught and released 211 fish at Hackensack Children’s Fishing Contest
Wonderful weather was on order for the 105 participants today. The big fish were elusive today. There was a 13 ounce fish caught, but in two age groups, we only had 4 ounce fish as biggest fish.
Backus woman injured in crash
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on July 25, 2025 at 11:36 a.m., a 2011 Lexus RX SUV driven by Jennifer Ann Bunce, age 78 of Backus, MN was driving northbound on Highway 6 near Big Rice Lake Road when it veered off the road and hit a few trees.
