The Community Church of Walker United Church of Christ will continue its Gazebo Concert Series, “Music Under the Pines,” with “The Musical Event of the Summer” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the church, located at the corner of Highway 371 and Tianna Drive in Walker.
It was the last contest of the 2026 season, and the weather was absolutely beautiful. 87 youth arrived and they were ready to catch a load of fish and eat all the hot dogs we could cook.
Last week and this week was our 9 Hole Tianna President’s Cup and we all saw some good and bad shots. If you golfed both days you were able to take the best score you had out of the two rounds on each hole!
Sixteen women played their Wednesday league day at LongBow Golf Club August 12. Game of the day was BINGO, BANGO, BONGO—an individual game earning one point each for being first on the green, nearest the flag, and in the cup first.
What a wonderful way to wrap up another unforgettable season of turtle racing in Longville with 326 racers! The final Turtle Fest was a beautiful day filled with happy faces, great memories–and a brand-new car giveaway!
The Longville Young At Heart Senior Club host Hand and Foot every Tuesday at 11 a.m.; cribbage every Wednesday at 1 p.m. and 500 on the second, third and fourth Thursday of each month.
Pine River Public Library is excited to announce Lillian “Lilly” Lahr as the winner of this year’s Summer Writing Program! With encouragement from her parents Kimberly and Jeremiah, Lilly (age 11) completed all eight writing prompts and submitted her favorite composition for judging.
