I have heard through the grapevine that several people are not happy with the new Liquor Commissioner or the present City Council, well I can tell you that the problem is the change. No one likes change. It is no longer business as usual, but by the book.
Fair share
When a politician speaks of a "fair share" you can bet that 'fair' is what the simple minded democrat will believe while the 'share' goes into their leader's pockets to purchase favors.

I said that the amount for free drinks was $11,000. In fact the amount should have been $3,349.50, this was my mistake because I added in the $8,100 we paid to the MMBA for 9 years. The fact remains that it cost the citizens of Longville money.

Compliance Checks
Alcohol compliance checks were conducted the evening of May 4, 2012 on 28 local businesses' which are licensed to sell alcohol beverages. The checks were coordinated by the Cass County Sheriff's Department and the Working Together Coalition. Four students assisted Law Enforcement as underage buyers.
Hackensack Legion family
During the past 12 months the Hackensack American Legion Family consisting of Legionnaires, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion contributed more than $40,000 to Legion and community programs, veterans, and active military.
Emily blood drive results
The American Red Cross recently held a Blood Drive in Emily. Despite the competing thunderstorms a total of 118 pints of life saving blood was collected. This was the 58th bloodmobile held in Emily over the past 24 years, bringing a total of 5313 pints collected from this site.
