BACKUS - Cass County Board voted Tuesday to adopt budget committee recommendations to cut enough items from the proposed 2015 budget to allow for a $198,651 contingency fund to handle emergencies.
BACKUS - Assessor Mark Peterson reported Cass County foreclosures dropped significantly in the third quarter this year. In 2013, there were 31 third quarter foreclosures. That dropped to 21 this year, with the largest decline shown in non-homesteaded residential properties (vacation homes).
