Judy Lee Lally, age 80, passed away at St Mary’s Hospital in Duluth on September 3, 2026. Judy was born in Buffalo, MN on August 9, 1946 to Clarence and Laverne (Holland) Scherr. She grew up on a farm in the Monticello, MN area and graduated from Monticello High School. After high school she moved to Mound, MN for work and met the love of her life, Leo Lally. They were married on January 27, 1968 and had one daughter, Terri. They resided in Big Lake, MN where she ran an in-home daycare for many years until they retired and moved to Remer, MN in 2007. Judy loved spending time with family and friends, hunting deer, fishing and reading. Most of all she loved all the memories she had with all the kids she cared for over the years.

   Family that preceded Judy in death are her parents, her husband Leo in 2022, sisters Lois Ross, Darlene Stuve and Cheryl Espelund, brother Billie Scherr, several brothers-in-law, nephews John Ross, Derek Scherr and Corey Blesi.

   Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Terri (Alan) Nystrom, bonus son, Jason Kostrewski. Grandsons, Alan Nystrom Jr., Jacob Kostrewski and Elijah Nystrom. Granddaughters, Stephanie Keeton and Amanda Jahnke. Sisters, Shirley Zachman, Phyllis Stimpson and Lorri Scherr. Brothers, Jeff Scherr, Bruce Scherr and Jesse Scherr. Sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bullis, Vicky Scherr and Terri Scherr. Brothers-in-law, Jim Lally, Ken Johnson and Mike Fiereck. Many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

   A Celebration of Life will be held on October 3, 2026 from 11 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Lions Park, 1100 County Rd 75, Clearwater, MN 55320
