Bob Savre Senior Men’s Golf League results
The Bob Savre Senior Men’s League had 51 golfers forming 13 teams show up to play the game of the day, using the Stableford scoring system at Longbow Golf Club.
Stableford is a point-based golf scoring system where, instead of counting the total number of strokes taken, players earn points on each hole based on their score relative to par. The goal is to accumulate the highest number of points.
League results for September 1 are:
The team winning first place in Flight 1, with a 126 included Ray Zittlow, Guy Reierson, Mike Press and Rocky Berndt.
The team that walked away with first place in Flight 2, with a 123 included Tom Novak, Paul Dennie, Tony Rannow and Brad Duhr.
First place in Flight 3 went to the team with a score of 117, including Harland Johnson, Bob Vaughn, Jim Ernst and Dallas Anderson.
The team that earned first place in Flight 4 with a 136 included Roger Frank, Bill McKee, Rod Bothast and Ernie Pulido.
Tom Wierzbicki won the low gross of the day with a 79. Low net was earned by Rod Bothast, with his 95-28=67.
Randy Noecker was closest to the pin on No. 5 at 9’ 7”. Closest to the pin on No. 15 was Rich Traeger at 6”. Ron Whetter had the longest putt on No. 9 at 14’ 10”, while Blair Witt had the longest putt on No. 18. at 8’ 10”
No chip-ins were made on Sept. 1.
