Area residents are invited to learn how to recognize and avoid today’s most common scams during a cybersecurity and scam awareness program Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 525 State Hwy. 6 in Outing.

Tremolo Communications will present “Cybersecurity, AI, Text & Phone Scams,” an educational program focused on helping people identify fraudulent messages and calls and protect themselves from becoming victims.

The program will cover common scams involving fake text messages, phone calls and emails, along with newer forms of fraud using artificial intelligence to make scams appear more convincing.

Participants will learn practical cybersecurity tips and warning signs to watch for when receiving unexpected messages, calls or emails. The presentation will also address ways to better protect personal information and accounts from scammers.

As technology continues to change, scammers are finding new ways to make fraudulent communications look legitimate. The program is designed to give participants practical information they can use to recognize potential scams before responding.
