Grace Allen (Hanson) Bowdish
Grace Allen (Hanson) Bowdish, age 90, passed away on September 20, 2026, in Waconia, Minnesota.
Grace was born on March 28, 1936, in Mondovi, Wisconsin, to Allen and Edith Hanson. She met Boyd Bowdish in Shakopee, and the two were married in 1958. They shared 59 years of marriage, raising their family in Golden Valley before retiring in Longville, where Grace spent the next 21 years.
Grace devoted 40 years to nursing. She spent her early years as a psychiatric nurse at Glenwood Hills Hospital in Golden Valley before transitioning to eldercare, where she spent the majority of her career caring for seniors throughout the Twin Cities. She had an extraordinary gift for caring for others. She knew how to listen, how to comfort, and how to say exactly what someone needed to hear, often with a joke or a playful tease that made the hardest moments a little lighter. She was a woman full of grace, but never without a little spunk.
Grace accepted people exactly as they were and always chose to see the good in them. She was the best person to call, a friend, caregiver, and confidant who made everyone feel welcome, valued, and understood.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Boyd, in 2017; her parents, Allen and Edith Hanson; and her brothers, Darron, Dell, Alton, and Jay Hanson.
She is survived by her sons, Boyd and Doug (Lisa); grandchildren, Nate, Katie (John), and Cory; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Teagan; her sister, Patty (Marvin) Theis; and many dear friends and loved ones.
Her laughter, kindness, and unmistakable spirit will be deeply missed. She will be remembered, cherished, and loved always.
A private family service will be held.
