Pine River Public Library launches Summer Reading Program June 1
Pine River Public Library is inviting area children and teens ages 18 and younger to join this summer’s “Plant a Seed, Read” Summer Reading Program beginning Monday, June 1.
Participants can earn prizes for reaching reading goals throughout the summer. Returning this year by popular demand are the library’s limited-edition Reading Dragon Cards, which young readers can collect as they complete reading milestones. Additional rewards include books, pens, pencils, and other fun prizes.
The library will also host weekly events and activities for children of all ages during June and July. Programs will feature children’s authors, storytellers, local community guests, performers, and hands-on activities designed to keep kids reading and learning all summer long.
Registration for the library’s free weekly kids’ art classes runs from Tuesday, May 26, through Saturday, June 6. Families may register by calling or emailing the library. Remaining openings after registration closes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis from the waiting list.
Summer Reading Program registration opens June 1 and continues through July 30. Library staff encourages families to register early so children have more time to meet reading goals and earn rewards.
A full calendar of events is available at Kitchigami Regional Library System’s website at krls.org, on the Pine River Public Library’s Facebook page, or at the library.
The library also extends thanks to this year’s community sponsors for helping make the program possible: Pine River Library Building Foundation, Pine River Legion Post 613, the Hackensack and Backus Lions Clubs, Pine River Ace Hardware, Sherwood Florist, and Happy Dancing Turtle.
For more information or to register for classes, contact the Pine River Public Library at (218) 587-4639 or [email protected].
