   To the Editor: 

   The Friends of the Longville Library invites all community members to attend our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Margaret Welch Memorial Library. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the work we do in support of the library, and how you can get involved.

   At the meeting, we’ll celebrate our fundraising efforts, share plans for upcoming book sales, and look ahead to 2027. We’ll also be electing board members, and welcome anyone interested in lending a hand — whether by serving on the board, volunteering at events, or simply sharing ideas and enthusiasm. The board seats up for election are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Member at Large.

   We are in special need of fiction books and children’s books. If you have gently used books in these categories that you’d like to donate, please bring them to the library during business hours. Your donations make our sales possible and directly support library programming and materials for the entire community.

   Membership is just $10 per household annually, and all membership dues and donations go directly toward library programs, materials, and special projects that benefit the entire community.

   The Friends of the Library group plays a vital role in supporting programming, services, and enhancements to the library. Our success depends on the dedication of volunteers and the support of our generous community. If you’ve ever considered joining, this is a great time to learn more.

   Everyone is welcome. Please come with your questions, your creativity, and your love for the library.
