May 27, 1926
The dance at the George Snell school in Trelipe township was well attended and teachers from Pine River furnished the music. After all expenses were paid, there was $23 to complete the payment on the piano.
While playing ball Sunday afternoon at Longville, Frank Slagle and Jim Iverson collided when they were trying to catch a fly. The doctor dressed their wounds, but Iverson is looking for a new set of teeth.
We understand that E.E. Delaphena is financing the building of a fence around the Catholic cemetery in St. Edward’s parish.

May 23, 1951
Students of Turtle Lake township Donna Simmons, Inez Kennedy, John Bergeley and Leland Aultman are all in the Walker graduating class of 1951.
Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Gunderson of Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. Dauner and daughter of Anoka were weekend guests at the Roy Gunderson home at Brevik.
A man down in Big Swamp named Grove, had a hoss that refused to be drove. But the critter would run like a sonofagun, whenever he’d feed it a clove.

Deepest sympathy is extended to Bill Condon on the death of his father, Frank. He made his home at Austin’s Campgrounds for many years and was well-known in the Federal Dam area.
A group of ten families with adopted children met at Paul Norman’s Lakeview Camp at Mule Lake for an afternoon of pleasantries.
Elsie Sawyer and Barbara Birge, Ponto Lake township, attended Jackie Birge’s graduation at Bemidji State College.

Northland High School Marching Band, more than 50 students under the direction of Dee Lindeman-Smith, will perform at the Valley Fair Family Amusement Park on May 25th.
Longville’s 5th and 6th graders from Longville visited the State Capitol and met with State Rep. Larry Howes and Senator Tony Kinkel. Their teachers, Mr. Short and Mr. Savolainen, accompanied them.
Fred Bliss who resides on the north end of Long Lake in Longville was elected president of the Minnesota Lakes Association.
