Longbow Ladies golf
LongBow Ladies Golf League met Wednesday, May 13 at LongBow Clubhouse near Walker to begin its 18-week season. Nineteen members gathered for brunch, followed by its biannual member meeting.
The main agenda item was to introduce a 4,000-yard course for those members who would prefer to play fewer yards. LongBow’s new course management is assisting in identifying and setting up tee boxes for the new short course. It will be available for Ladies League members and any others who may want to play this new length. The Minnesota Golf Association has provided slope and rating, making it official so scores can be posted to GHIN. League members are encouraged to play it for the first couple of weeks of the season before choosing which length they will play for the balance of the summer.
Following the meeting five groups played an 18-hole scramble. The threesome of Mary Jane Black, Cindy Gross and Hope Olson scored the winning game with a 72.
