   The Hackensack Lending Library is back “home” after a summer in temporary quarters during major log restoration in 2025.  It is beautiful, with refurbished windows, refinished floors, and an additional room to house more books!  We are preparing for the final restoration phase in 2027 which includes HVAC work and a handicap ramp and entrance.

   The Lending Library building is also celebrating it’s 90th birthday, having been built in 1936 by the four local Holmberg brothers working for the WPA (Works Progress Administration). We will open at 10:00 a.m. on June 1 and close at 2 p.m. for all those folks searching for a good summer read or returning their many winter reads. The Lending Library is open Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June through September where you don’t need a library card to check out a book.
