I’ve known crops tew ripen so early in some parts of the county, thet we’ve had to make a snowman out in the field to keep the crows away.
Fires at Shore Acres, Blackwater Lake, Blind Lake, Leech Lake, and on Section 5 of Inguadona have claimed the attention of our fire warden day and night for the past week.
Several boys from Onigum went over to Old Agency to help in clearing up the baseball and camping grounds.

Pupils of the Boy River school cleaned up the school yard last Friday.
A farewell party was given at Longville Friday for Kenneth Slagle at Mix’s Country Club.
Several Remer folks worked last week refinishing the floors at the Lutheran church.

Hazel Bastle and Marlene Sorum, Remer, were in Chicago for Easter. Clarence Bastle flew in from Pennsylvania to visit with his mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Phil Mix were Saturday overnight guests of the Kevin Carlsons, Aurora. Heather Ann spent the night with Grandpa and Grandma Johnston.
Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Charbeneau of Kansas have arrived and are now living in their new home south of Remer.

Jake Jacobson congratulates Troy Huntington as the new owner of Calypso Services Window Cleaning located in Longville.
Lisa Blexrub graduated from Central Lake College with an associate degree in Graphic Arts Press and will do an internship at Bang Printing, Brainerd. After completion of the internship, she will receive her second associate degree in electronic publishing. A graduate of Northland High in 1998, her parents Terry and Mary Blexrud live in Outing.
