   100 Women Who Care of the Leech Lake Area continue to meet semi-annually to raise money in ONE HOUR in ONE evening for a local non-profit 501(c3).  The winning non profit is selected through a process where there is a nominated and then vote by those present and who have made a monetary donation. (The suggested donation is $100.00). The spring date and location has been changed due to several other great non-profit fundraising events being held in May.

   The next giving event will be June 1, 2026 which will be held at Tianna Country Club, with registration starting at 5 p.m. and the 1 hour event starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar along with snacks. This will be the Eighth giving event held by our local 100 Women, who to date have raised over $86,000 in the events already held since December 2022. 

   Recipients in the past have included the ARCC Women’s Shelter, the Walker Area  Food Shelf-(twice), Friends of the Walker Library, The Door, FIA (Faith In Action) and the Arvig Walker Area Community Center.  

   A random drawing of three is made of all the nominations submitted by those in attendance, and then those three selected nonprofits are given a few minutes to tell the women about their non-profit mission and how they work within the community before a vote is made by those in attendance.  The winner is announced that evening—And-ALL this happens within only ONE hour!! We hope to see you there!!
