Walker Bay Theater announces full summer and fall schedule
The 2026 season at Walker Bay Theater continues to gain momentum, with additional productions and special events being added to an already busy schedule.
When the final curtain falls on Four Old Broads on June 28, the demolition crew will be standing by to strike the set and begin construction of the set walls for On Golden Pond. Yes, Norman Thayer is back for four performances beginning August 20.
As many may recall, Norman (Dave Holk) suffered a stroke while preparing for the final two performances of On Golden Pond in 2025. After months of recovery, he is looking forward to bringing one of America’s most beloved theatrical productions back to the Walker Bay Theater stage. Nearly all of the 2025 cast will return for this limited engagement.
The Walker Bay Theater Board of Directors encourages patrons to reserve seats now, as the production is expected to sell out. Tickets are available at American National Bank of Walker. When purchasing tickets, please specify your preferred performance date: August 20, 21, or 22 at 7 p.m., or August 23 at 3 p.m. Reservations may also be made by calling Dave Holk at 218-820-1603 or the theater at 218-547-4044. Messages may be left, and calls will be returned.
Once the semi-permanent set walls are in place, temporary backdrops will be installed for two July events. The first is Bookish Bingo, a Walker Bay Theater fundraiser scheduled for July 11. It will be followed by Bible Bingo, running July 21-26. This nationally acclaimed interactive comedy, which originated in Chicago, has entertained audiences across the country and appeals to theatergoers of all ages. Additional details, including show times and ticket information, will be announced soon.
Also joining the August schedule is a special musical performance by Debbie Center on August 8. Featuring many familiar and beloved songs from years past, Center’s performance promises an enjoyable evening of entertainment. The one-night-only show begins at 7 p.m. Ticket information will be announced soon and will be available through the same reservation sources.
Then it’s time for On Golden Pond, August 20-23. With only four performances scheduled, theatergoers are encouraged to reserve seats early. Audiences will once again enjoy the story of Norman, Ethel, Chelsea, Bill, Billy Ray, Charlie Martin and, of course, “The Operator,” as Walker Bay Theater brings this memorable classic back to the stage.
September will feature one of the area’s most popular musical tribute shows, The King and The Man in Black. Sean Wallin will portray two legendary members of the Music Hall of Fame — Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash — in performances on September 12 and 13. Show times are 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
The production has been entertaining audiences throughout the region, and Walker Bay Theater is pleased to bring it to the stage for a memorable evening. While no alcohol will be permitted, the show offers a perfect date night opportunity or an enjoyable outing with family and friends.
All tickets are $20, with no senior discount available. Reservations may be made by contacting Dave Holk at 218-820-1603. Prepayment is required, and credit card purchases will include a $1 processing fee. Please note that tickets are nonrefundable.
Audiences are sure to be impressed by the performers’ talents, and there may even be a few surprises along the way.
Additional fall offerings, including a possible Halloween-themed production, are currently under consideration. Watch local media outlets for future announcements.
