   My name is Leslie Bouchonville, and I am running for Cass County Commissioner in District 3.

   For the past 32 years, Backus has been my home. It is where I raised my three children, built lasting relationships, worked, served, and became deeply connected to the people and communities that make this area such a special place to live. Like many of you, I care deeply about the future of Cass County and the decisions being made that affect our families, taxpayers, small towns, and rural way of life.

   Much of my life’s work has been centered on strengthening families and communities. I have served as a nonprofit leader with two Cass County Family Centers, working with families, local partners, and community members to solve problems, connect people with resources, and support stronger communities. That experience has taught me the importance of listening, working together, using common sense, and finding practical solutions that make a real difference.

   I am running for county commissioner because I believe District 3 deserves a strong local voice at the county level. County government plays an important role in our daily lives, from roads and public safety to budgeting, land use, human services, and support for our rural communities. These decisions should be made with honesty, transparency, and respect for the people who live here.

   I believe in responsible budgeting, practical leadership, and making sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. Families across Cass County have to make careful financial decisions, and county government should do the same. We need leadership that understands the value of a dollar, asks good questions, and focuses on the needs of the people.

   I also believe that rural communities deserve to be heard. District 3 is made up of hardworking people, families, seniors, small business owners, farmers, lake residents, and neighbors who care about their communities. I want to make sure their voices are represented when decisions are made.

   My approach is simple: listen first, work hard, use common sense, and stay focused on what matters most. I am not running to bring politics as usual to the county board. I am running to bring steady, practical leadership and a commitment to serving the people of District 3.

   Over the course of this campaign, I look forward to meeting more of you, hearing your concerns, answering your questions, and learning what matters most to your family and your community. I would be honored to earn your trust and support as your next Cass County Commissioner for District 3.
