   Paws and Claws Rescue & Resort, Hackensack is heading in to its ninth year of saving animal lives while completing families.

   We are so very happy for the almost 3,000 dogs and cats adopted to their forever homes. We have also brought many warm-hearted experiences to the various groups visiting our facility for some time spent with our furry friends. The staff and volunteers enjoy the visiting groups very much too!

   Our needs have evolved over the years so we are expanding our surgery room, as all cats and dogs are spayed and neutered before adoption. We have benefited from Lakeland Veterinary of Baxter for donating additional surgical equipment to Paws after updating their surgical area.

   Our animal intake has also taken on more space in the existing garage. Dogs & cats come to Paws + Claws in various ways, stray, found, sometimes a surrender and this is difficult because of a life circumstance. During the in-take process the animal is scanned for a microchip, weighed, receives necessary medications and vaccines as per protocol and given a physical examination. 

   Because of these expanded needs, P+C will be adding a garage with a multi-purpose room this year because of an anonymous donor. The multi-purpose room will be used for assessments, training, meet and greets and a play area for the coldest days of winter.

None of the very kind contributions of our other donors will be used on this addition. All of these generous donations will go 100% to the medical care and feeding of the dogs and cats in our care.

   Paws + Claws is a busy place, we look forward to the building completion so we can better serve our four-pawed residents, visitors and our community.
