   June 2 – Tianna Women’s 9-Hole Golf League

   League members enjoyed beautiful weather on June 2 while competing in a team putting contest. Teams were scored based on the total number of putts recorded by their foursome, with the lowest total determining the winners.

   First place went to Kathy Jewell, Ann Owen, Pat Ripken and Dianna Johnson. The second-place team consisted of Catherine Hanson, Sherry Ertz, Marie Kelly and Bev Corr-Higdem. Finishing third were Janet Arnold, Jan Gandy, Sandy Emery and Kathy Trimble.

   Ann Owen recorded a birdie on No. 2, while Catherine Hanson added a birdie on No. 7. Pars were made by Lee Sand on No. 2, Jan Gandy on No. 8 and Nancy Jewell on No. 1.

   Jan Gandy chipped in on No. 8, and Judy Running recorded a chip-in on No. 9.

   Low gross scores for the day were Jan Gandy with a 49, Paula Pederson with a 51 and Ann Owen with a 53.

   May 26 – Tianna Women’s 9-Hole Golf League

    On May 26, golfers competed in a pink-ball team event. Each team received a pink golf ball that was rotated among players from hole to hole. Teams remained in the competition as long as the pink ball was not lost. Final standings were based on the pink ball’s total score throughout the round.

The winning team, with a score of 52, included Paula Pederson, Lee Sand and Ann Owen. Finishing second with a score of 55 were Karen Anderson, Kathy Hoffman and Kathy Trimble. Third place went to Bev Corr-Higdem, Judy Running and Dawn Schnable with a score of 61.

   Pars were recorded by Rollie Haugen on No. 3, Kathy Hoffman on No. 2, Ann Owen on No. 7 and 8, and Karen Anderson on No. 1, 7 and 8.
