   Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk reports that on June 4th, 2026, at 7:01 p.m. the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received reports of shots being fired in the City of Cass Lake. Deputies arrived in the area and learned that individuals were shooting at each other and that one juvenile male was struck in the leg. Emergency medical aid was immediately rendered to the victim who was transported to Sanford Bemidji with non-life-threatening injuries. Through the investigation, several parties of interest including juveniles and adults were identified and the investigation is ongoing. Assisting at the scene and with the investigation were the Leech Lake Tribal Police, Leech Lake Ambulance, and the MN State Patrol.
