   June 30 – Tianna Women’s 9-Hole Golf League

   This week’s golf format put everyone into play with a game of “Hack and Wack.” The rules called for each team to add the highest score and the lowest score on each hole, with the total after nine holes determining the winners.

   The winning team was Ann Owen, Jan Gandy and Janet Arnold with a total score of 116. Finishing in second place with a score of 125 were Paula Pederson, Catherine Hanson, Judy Running and Kathy Jewell. Taking third place with a total score of 130 were Molly Malek, Rollie Haugen, Sandy Emery and Patricia Ripken.

   Birdies on No. 2 were recorded by Janet Arnold, Jeannie Blomme and Paula Pederson. Catherine Hanson carded a par on No. 2.

   July 7 – Tianna Women’s 9-Hole Golf League

    League members played nine holes this week, with a twist that allowed golfers to cross out their three highest scores and take a par on those holes.

   First-place finishers were Kathy Hoffman with a 41, Tami Thorson with a 45 and Paula Pederson with a 45. Second-place honors went to Catherine Hanson with a 47, Jan Gandy with a 49 and Karen Anderson with a 49. Third-place finishers were Dawn Schnable with a 50, and Rollie Haugen, Janet Arnold and Kathy Trimble, each with a 51.

   Kathy Hoffman recorded a par on No. 11, while Catherine Hanson had a par on No. 17. Janet Arnold chipped in on No. 11 to cap off the day with a smile.
