At their July 8 meeting, the Backus Lions were proud to present a Melvin Jones Fellow award to Anita Jordan. Anita has been a member of the Backus Lions for about 15 years and for many of those years has served as the Club secretary. Along with secretarial duties, Anita has helped with the spring garage sale, the fly-in pancake breakfast, the peach sale, working the polish stand, the fall craft and bake sale, and monthly bingo at the Good Samaritan home. Not only has she worked the events, but she and her husband, LeRoy, spend a lot of time doing “behind the scenes” set up work to get things prepared for the events. Backus Lions president Mel Taylor presented the award to Anita.  Congratulations Anita! You are well deserving of the Melvin Jones Fellow award. Photo submitted.
